Our goal at Quilter's Computing Resource (QCR) is to help people see the creative possibilities of the computer. We want to inspire you to try a few computer applications in fun sewing-related projects. If you are a business owner, we hope to show you how to use the computer as an effective "business assistant". Although our business name is Quilter's Computing Resource, we've chosen "" as our domain name because it states our outlook perfectly - we think Computing is SEW Fun!

You'll find details about the services we offer and some of the fun ways we use computers on the major pages on our web site. Here's an overview of what you'll find in each section of the site.

Quilt Design - We began working with the Electric Quilt Company as a representative in 1992 and have offered Electric Quilt classes ever since. The Quilt Design portion of our site offers some fun projects for EQ users and insight into the wide range of projects we've created with quilt design software such as the EQ products. Visit the following pages for specific Electric Quilt class offerings:

Fabric Printing - In the late 1990's, Sharon started experimenting and teaching about printing images on fabric using a computer and printer. The Fabric Printing section of our site tells about these adventures. To provide a thorough overview of the Fabric Printing process and many creative ideas for using computer-printed fabrics, we share slides from a lecture Sharon presented at the 2001 International Quilt Festival along with Craig Hamer, of Hewlett Packard's Business Printing Division. Sharon also taught classes on Digital Imagery at both the 2004 and 2005 International Quilt Festivals and has given lectures on these topics at numerous quilt guilds and quilting events. The Fabric Printing section of our website also provides an overview of Fabric Printing Resources and Products.

Web Site Design - QCR has helped numerous small businesses establish a web presence that fits their own goals. We've presented lectures at past International Quilt Markets on numerous topics, including planning and developing business web sites. Owner Sharon Hull Dinsmore presented Beyond E-Mail: Staying in Touch with Online Customers at the 2006 Fall International Quilt Market. Visit our Web Site Design page for a downloadable summary of this lecture. If you are considering creating a web site for your business, be sure to visit our Web Site Design page to read some of the articles Sharon has written and to visit some of the web sites she has designed.

Sewing/Embroidery - We constantly experiment with all kinds of software that have anything to do with sewing and fabrics. It was just a matter of time before Sharon discovered Embroidery Machines and Embroidery Design Software and added them to her list of passions and to her teaching repertoire.

Lectures - With over 15 years of experimenting with quilt design software, embroidery design software, photo manipulation software and printing on fabric, Sharon has numerous samples and techniques to share. She loves spreading the word that Computing is Sew Fun and is available for lectures at guilds, shops and sewing events. Get a listing of her lecture and workshop topics on the Lectures section of our web site.
